The purposes of the reading reflections are: to provide you list of background readings on literacy and technology issues, to provide you a place to reflect on your readings, and to share your reactions and ideas with the rest of the group.

You MUST respond at least 5 reading materials.

Each journal entry needs to be one page (250-500 words)

They are 1 point each and they need to be posted in the discussion board (under Reading reflection forum) and try to respond to each others' threads.

1. Key Points: These are what you perceive as the author’s main points; key points must be in your own words. If you need to quote the author first, do so, but then rewrite the point in your own words. Key points are content-based; therefore, there may be many “KPs” per reading.

2. Talking Points: Talking Points are ideas, points, and/or arguments of the author that you think are so important that you want to be sure that your peers took note of them as well. They can also be ideas, points, and/or arguments that need clarification or that you disagree with and would like to discuss further. “TPs” should reflect your interest in the content.

3. Personal Response: The Personal Response is written in essay form. It should address how this reading relates to your life and your classroom observation experience. As the course progresses, the personal response must include connections between the reading and the content of class lectures/discussions.
